Characters like öäüßéê etc are still considered illegal characters, though.

- This should be fixed.

A question – when you request an open game and send out an invite during the process, privacy automatically gets set from open to private. Yet when you finish the request and then send out an invite from the lobby, privacy remains set to open. Is this intentional?

- You could say that. it is possible by design to have an open request that you also send invites to. during the initial request the privacy does default to Private, however it does not change after the fact.

Thank you! This is worth a lot when using the chat.

What I mean is this. When I'm requesting a new game, the first popup window looks like this by default:

Image

Note that privacy is set to Open by default. I choose to leave it at that and click "Next". In the following window , I send out an invitation. The finished request automatically shows up in the queue with privacy set to Private:

My choice of open privacy from the first window got overridden without even a notice.

If I had selected "submit" in the second window instead of sending out an invitation, privacy would have remained set to open.

I noticed a few more things:

- The "show turn x" and replay function of the log (at least in T&E) works very unreliably. Sometimes it works straight away, sometimes you have to wait a while before it works, sometimes it does not work at all. Sometimes, with several active games at once, a mixture of all three: in one game it works, in another game it won't.

- Sometimes the log also refuses to scroll down all the way, or it won't scroll at all.

- The replay function after a game has ended seems not to work at all.

- Finally, concerning this:

The tiles should have been replenished at the end of the previous round, together with the Lion player's tiles; they only replenished after the Archer had made his first move, playing a catastrophe.

From what I can see in the logs it does seem that the tiles were replenished at the right time. The most likely possibility seems to be that the browser did not update (or was slow to do so). This is something we are constantly trying to improve though it is very tricky, and may never be absolutely perfect. If something odd does happen at any point it is always worth refreshing the page to see if that fixes it. Meanwhile the reports do help as we continue to improve the interface.

I case it helps, this happened today:

I opened a new tab and called up the lobby. I had several games waiting for the 1st move of my current turn. Clicking on my first game, the screen showed only 4 tiles in my hand. I reloaded the tab and it showed 6 tiles, as it should. Back to the lobby, second game: again 4 tiles, again needed to reload. Back to the lobby, same for the third game.

The T&E log, and logs in general, should behave more reliably now. It's an ongoing process though, since logging every change for every game is fairly complex.

In my current game of Go, I placed a stone and now it's my opponent's turn. BUT it still displays "Click on an intersection to place a piece, or pass. [Pass Button]"
How could I pass while it's not my turn? Should I try out what happens?

Also, scoring in Go doesn't work. RandBot won without any reasonable territory or prisoners. Evil RandBot!
Go scoring is somewhat complex and in many implementations of computer Go, you can choose to continue play if you are not satisfied with the result.

Thirdly, I can't access this forum on mobile devices. The link just doesn't show up in the menu. Is this deliberate?

- Could you check again if it's still your turn? Perhaps there was just some delay in the interface at the time?

- The scoring in Go includes the placed stones - so it does seem to be correct.

- The Triqqy forum doesn't show on mobile at the moment because it does not work very well with the small screen size. Maybe it could be shown afterall or eventually as a bad looking forum should be better than no forum? This is something to contemplate on.

It's my opponent's turn. The Pass button is still there. When I click it, I am told "Not this players move (95,28181,28181)". At least that's correct. Just wondered why the button shows up in the first place.

The scoring in Go is complex. Often, players stop playing as soon as they can see who has won. At this point, there aren't many closed territories you could count. This is very difficult for Go software. In the game I played against RandBot, I clearly have won the game, as I could make all my territories 'living' (a Go term), whereas RandBot clearly hasn't any territory that's living.
Normally, if the opponents can't come to an agreement about who's won, they continue playing until the territories are more clearly outlined. Most Go software has a similar solution where each opponent can click some "continue playing" button if he thinks, the result is wrong. Also, the result is usually shown on the board. All territories are marked in the respective color to show who owns it.

Well, I am okay with only accessing the forum from my PC. Just wondered...

In game T&E 326, the screen looks like this for me:

Note that the log has been pushed down a bit. When I scroll the whole screen down, the log looks like this:

E&T game 321: In a red revolt, I have three red tiles in my hand and want to commit them as supporters by selecting all three of them. However, I can only select one of them. When I click the first one to select it, it gets highlighted; but when I click the second one to add (and highlight) it, the first tile gets un-highlighted, and when I click on the third one, the highlight moves to the third tile only, and so son.

We paused the game at this point; I haven't clicked "commit" yet. I am the Archer player.
