I have had eight games that I put out into open, get picked up and then never played. For the loss the other person loses 0 points. Meanwhile I have not put something else out because i am waiting to play. I would suggest it at least cost them 10 points. 8 games was about 40% of my games in that period.

I presume you are suggesting it cost them points, but not give to the other players?

It is worth consideration but I don't think it will have much impact because most of those players are simply leaving without returning. They simply do not care. And it breaks the "conservation of point change" principle in place. On the other hand, to prevent point farming of new players the scoring system incorporates their experience level. I

I don't know how to enforce that people follow through on what they start... if I did I would some type of zillionaire ;)

Would it be possible to make invites more visible to a player each time then come on the site? i.e. The first screen that pops when you log in, as in CC.

I have tried to invite many people on the leader boards to games, and my invites just sit there. If they had to deal with an invite screen, I believe they would either accept or reject and then I would know and could invite someone else.

The invites appear at the top of the lobby... which is the first page you go to. So they should be quite visible.

For each game, allow users to select a default color (or symbol). That would make it much easier to find your own pieces when you are in multiple games!

Game Requests in the chat room window should be a little more specific.
For example, it should read:

"bonedigger requests a casual game of Chess", or
"bonedigger requests a real-time game of Chess"

so that everyone knows what kind of game they're getting in to, should they accept the request/invitation to play.

Another suggestion for game requests would be to include a timer to show how long is left before a game becomes active.

Unfortunately there is no way of knowing that. The game becomes active as soon as enough matching requests are received.

Your idea about request info in the feed was good, I have made a note about it!

Thank you for all your work on the site. I just found it today and started by playing Through the Desert vs. a bot. My suggestion is about Through the Desert: would it be possible to highlight the camel placed in a given step when you click on the log entry for that step? I know the log lists the hexes by number, but it's not obvious where hex 12-16 is.

Thanks again.

Rolling over a hex should show the label, which pretty quickly should allow you to locate it. Also clicking on the game logs should play back through the moves - which might help.

For Through the Desert, when I was playing, mousing over a hex didn't always show the hex coordinates. This seems to be working now. In terms of using the log, when I click on a previous move, all of that player's camels are highlighted, rather than just the new one, so it's not very helpful.
