Invite problem

I tried to invite a person to a game and was unable.

Set up a game Casual, 7, private. On the next screen I set up human, invite. The game was then filled with a person named Glenda, probably a nice person but I don't know her. I tried twice, same result.

I then tried Casual, 7, Open. Then human, invite. This time I got the screen to invite. Filled in MGSteve, whom I had had click into the other games tab. But the computer said it was unable to find him.

What to do?

Apologies. There have been some issues with the invite system - especially with Backgammon which has it's own "Points" variable, and also 3+ player games. We are re-engineering the system and should release a new version soon.

Invites system was just updated and should resolve the issue with private requests ending up not being private.

Re: MGSteve, he is not a user in this system. You'll need to cajole him to come on in here first, then you will be able to invite him.

MGSteve says he can't get to the backgammon through "Other Games" and as MG (the account you created for him), he can't get into triqqy. And he says he hasn't heard on the help ticket. I don't know why he is having that much trouble.

I still get the occasional list of games and the box that says Silly Knig-it is taken. But I hit the refresh and I get to the regular screen. I don't know if that tells you anything or not.

For accessing from Conquer Club, he needs to clear his cookies, as I believe the issues in accessing from there stem from having accessed the system when logged in under a different username. The 'MG' username will only work outside of CC, since it is not connected to any CC username. The MGSteve username will not work outside of CC since it has no password (and is authenticated through CC).

Beyond that, I'd be at a loss and would be maybe thinking it was some type of networking/firewall issue.

Yesterday I tried to set up a private 4 player casual game of Tigris and Euphrates two times. In both games the other players all accepted my invites, but the game does not become an active game. We were successfully able to start a two player game. Is there something special about getting a private 4 player game started in T&E?

Hey tkvaran, This should work. it's a little complex to analyze your specific case because there are multiple requests and invites involved... however there did not seem to be an individual invite that all three players accepted. One of them was accepted by 2 but declined by 1, so hence the game did not start. Let us know if you continue to experience issues and we will look into it further.
