4 move on - 2 move on

Hi,
I'm fairly new to this site.
What does "4 move on" or "2 move on" mean (mentioned in the description of a tournament)?
Are tournaments real time or turn based (Through the Desert for instance)?

It only means that 4 players will move on to the next round, then 2 players move forward to the final round.

In the game, you can see that there is a timer next to your username to show how much time you have to make your turn.
