Sorry Whammo--just got a new computer and am learning the ropes of Windows 10. Haven't installed any other browsers as yet.

Not having an "undo" button is an absolute killer. Or even better, something like take your turn, and then hit "submit" to make it official.

This is on a per game basis - some game and situations have it, some don't. Which are you talking about?

T&E. For instance, after placing a tile there's no way to undo that first move.

T&E is very complicated. Often a tile placement has ramifications, including passing the turn to other players... so this would be tricky. A confirm step might be easier, but then that make an additional action for the user to have to take... once they get used to things, players tend to not want to be slowed down. But I will definitely think about this some more and see what we can do.

That's a good point.

I'm trying to remember how BGG had it implemented, which was nearly perfect. I think the "submit" button only appeared when play would have passed to another player... whether at the end of the first or second action. Therefore it was only that one extra click at the point where control passed from your hands.

I think it's a good safety measure, and lets the active player see the state of the board before submitting.

(I've already screwed up once with a misclick... and I know it's my fault, but it hurts nonetheless! :))

I've been in 7 games of T&E 3 player and, other than playing Big Wham, have yet to finish a game with all 3 players. If you are signing on to a game, you need to know that if you don't make at least a move a day you will be dropped from the game.

Please don't sign on to a game unless you intend to meet the requirements.

Sadly, it's impossible for people to know whether they will continue until they start. Even if they cared enough to make that decision, they don't necessarily know enough, and are not willing to spend the time to work it out in advance. The other issue is that people forget. On this topic I will start a topic for discussion about how to deal with timeouts in general.

In Backgammon, when one player cannot move, (for ex. he is primed and has pieces on the bar), the game should not wait on the player who can't move.

It should allow the player who can to take move after move, until there is a possiblitity for the other player to play.

Can there be a bigger penalty for people who suck up open games and then don't play.

I have had eight games that I put out into open, get picked up and then never played. For the loss the other person loses 0 points. Meanwhile I have not put something else out because i am waiting to play. I would suggest it at least cost them 10 points. 8 games was about 40% of my games in that period.
