Penalty for abandoning a game

There must be a significant penalty (losing additional Score points) for a player that abandons a game. Currently, it looks like there is no difference between the points deducted for losing a game and abandoning the game. This encourages some irresponsible players to just abandon games that they feel they are losing, and the other player will be in limbo for days until the opponent's time runs out. This is no fun. Take a look at how Board Game Arena penalizes such players. Another helpful solution would be to add a "Resign" button, so that a player who doesn't want to finish a losing game can resign with no additional penalty points. This way both players can have a closure for the game and can move on.
