tournament format

#1 Postby megaducklord » 09 Mar 2019, 07:08

When playing tournaments, they "look" like standard elimination tournaments but advancement actually goes to the people with highest score, not according to the bracket
e.g. if I beat my round 1 opponent 2-1, then again 2-1 in the 2nd round its not guarantied that i reach round 3.
I think this is not the way it should be - but rather just have a standard bracket elimination.

I understand this is a known issue, and that there is an issue of "luck" in who you play against, but still wanted to re-raise this.
Just my 2 cents.

(Big fan of the site :) )

In a related "complaint" - in the T&E kingdom tournament (4 players per game), in the first round the great LePrat won all 3, and in the other 4-player game it was a 2-1-0-0 result.
The algorithm chose 1 player from our game to advance with Leprat, it was a player that had 0 points in each of the first-round games (timed out) while for instance I finished 2nd 2 times and 3rd one time.
What is the reason for the choice? I would assume its better to take the runner up (e.g. by places, or total points).
Even if not - the algorithm should be transparent .

Thanks.

I actually had a question regarding ties within the tournament score.
The situation we had is included in the attachment screenshot, where two players had 2 wins at the end of round 2. One of those players had 2 wins earned only in round 1 and 0 wins in round 2, but still he went to the finals.
What is the logic behind this, just so everyone is on the same page here when playing tournaments.
Is there a documentation of a sort or it is all learned by experience.

Thank you.

Forwarded.I don't think there is a documentation for this as of now. Maybe it's something to discover as you move along.

When can we expect some clarification regarding this...it should be a well known fact to everyone when playing. Strategy is also planned based on this.
Thank you.

Tournaments here should also be following the format in Conquer Club Tournaments as indicated in the Help page of CC:
https://www.conquerclub.com/public.php? ... urnaments5

Both your wins from the tournament are as follows and from what I assume made koliousis move on:
koliousis
https://triqqy.com/#/game/TigrisAndEuphrates/2809 (8)
https://triqqy.com/#/game/TigrisAndEuphrates/2810 (10)

Thank you for trying to help.
So, if I understood correctly, since both players have the same score, the number of earned points in relevant games is next that is being taken into account for moving forward?
